HD Radio developer iBiquity Digital Corporation announced that Lexus and Toyota will be the first automotive brands to launch integrated audio and real-time traffic services using HD Radio technology and Clear Channel’s Total Traffic Network (TTN), a service that delivers real-time local traffic flow and incident information.

Nine automakers are reportedly working to bring Apple’s Siri concierge feature into cars within the next year. They are Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda, General Motors, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes, and Toyota. Mention of the automakers’ intent was made during Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference. The integration of the smartphone into consumer vehicles will become all but standard on new models, according to a new report by Juniper Research, which forecasts that 92 million vehicles will feature technology to integrate the smartphone into the head-unit by 2016.
