Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has introduced a Li-ion battery monitoring and protection system that integrates all necessary components, including voltage and current measurement, signal isolation and safety monitoring.
DENSO Corporation has developed its first battery monitoring unit for lithium-ion batteries used in vehicles. It uses a newly developed voltage control method with a simpler and lower cost voltage control circuit, compared with the voltage control method used in laptop computers and other hardware. The new product is installed in the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, which Toyota introduced at the end of 2009.
July 27, 2009 - An electric drivetrain developed by Think (www.think.no/) and powered by a lithium-ion battery system made by Ener1 (www.ener1.com) subsidiary EnerDel (www.enerdel.com) has been delivered to the Japan Postal Service (www.post.japanpost.jp) via conversion partner Zero Sports (www.zerosports.co.jp).
