UPDATED August 6, 2009 – NXP has introduced the TDF8599 family of dual channel Class-D amplifiers with maximum output power from 70 – 130 watts (250 watts mono), reducing power dissipation in head-units and ensuring more efficient heat management compared with Class-AB amplifiers.
“The TDF8599 series gives us the opportunity to dramatically reduce the power dissipation in our multichannel audio amplifiers and at the same time increase the sound quality to satisfy our customers’ needs,” said Christian Seidel, group leader of the Harman Becker Automotive Systems Hardware, Mechanics & Layout Audio System Engineering Group.
