LDRA announced that Wind River® has selected the LDRA tool suite and DO-178 Qualification Support Packs for both internal software quality assurance and to help Wind River customers expedite the qualification and certification of their applications.
The selection of LDRA hinged on the ability of its tools to achieve 100 percent MC/DC coverage at both source and assembler levels—a mandatory requirement for object code verification—and to perform data coupling and control coupling analysis.
MathWorks has launched the DO 178 Process Deployment Advisory Service, dedicated Model-Based Design consulting services for DO-178 projects. Aerospace engineers can gain increased confidence that high-integrity applications developed using MATLAB and Simulink comply with DO standards such as DO-178B, DO-178C, and DO-331, the Model-Based Development and Verification Supplement to DO-178C and DO-278A.
The DO-178 Process Deployment Advisory Service complements the ISO 26262 Process Deployment Advisory Service recently introduced for high-integrity automotive system development. The DO-178 service educates engineers on the standard, identifies gaps in the current processes, provides a road map to a more optimized process framework using Model-Based Design, and assists in deploying that road map. LDRA has integrated the LDRA tool suite with National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW Virtual Instruments. The LDRA-NI solution offers hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, a technique used to develop and test the complex real-time embedded systems commonly found in military and aerospace designs. Thanks to LDRA’s expertise in safety-critical systems, NI’s hardware testing capabilities are fully matched with the software competencies necessary to achieve DO‑178 certification up to and including Level A.
