The Volt’s ability to operate gasoline-free on a day-to-day basis and carry an eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty is due to active thermal management of the advanced lithium ion battery pack.
IMS Research reports on ADAS and electric vehicles

The 2010 world fitment rate for two of the most talked-of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) functions, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control, was only about 1% each, or 1.5 million units, according to Helena Perslow, an automotive market analyst with IMS Research. Perslow is currently conducting research for the 2011 edition of “World Market for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.”

Lear Corporation said that after an 18-month development effort it is providing critical electrical power management systems for hybrid and electric vehicles. Its products include high voltage terminals and connectors that distribute electricity, and highly efficient battery charging technology.
