Nuance Communications Inc. said its Dragon Drive automotive-grade voice platform for the connected car is part of Chrysler Group’s Uconnect Access services. Uconnect Access provides 2013 Ram 1500 and SRT Viper owners a range of services including voice texting, and live and local connected search capabilities.
Nuance said Uconnect Access takes advantage of Nuance’s embedded and connected natural language understanding voice technology to give drivers smarter and faster connectivity to people, information and content – in the car and in the cloud. Uconnect Access leverages Nuance’s cloud-based Dragon Drive Messaging service to let people send, receive and respond to text messages to all contacts in their phonebook. All incoming text messages can be read aloud with Nuance’s text-to-speech capabilities, and drivers can dictate a response back if needed.
New features supported by the integration of Google Maps APIs include Send to Car, Point of Interest Search and Local Search by Voice.
“Blue Link makes it easy for our owners to find and navigate to their destinations,” said Barry Ratzlaff, director of Customer Connect at Hyundai Motor America. “The integration of Google Maps APIs makes Blue Link even more effective. We look forward to continuing work with Google to bring innovative solutions to Hyundai owners.”
