Broadcom Corporation announced that its BroadR-Reach® automotive portfolio now meets automotive industry requirements including TS16949 compliance/ISO 9001 certification, in-car EMC performance and AEC-Q100 qualification. The BroadR-Reach portfolio has also attained PPAP production release with Valeo.
Broadcom’s BroadR-Reach Ethernet solutions allow multiple in-vehicle systems to simultaneously access information over a single unshielded twisted pair cable at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. By eliminating shielded cabling, automotive manufacturers can reduce connectivity costs up to 80 percent and cabling weight up to 30 percent.

Broadcom’s BroadR-Reach® automotive portfolio delivers high-performance bandwidth of 100Mbps and beyond while dramatically reducing connectivity costs up to 80 percent(1) and cabling weight as much as 30 percent(2).
The Broadcom automotive Ethernet product portfolio consists of five devices including three highly integrated switches with embedded PHYs, and two stand-alone PHY solutions. Each device in the automotive portfolio is designed to meet in-car EMC requirements and extreme automotive temperature grades. Broadcom is TS16949 compliant and AEC-Q100 qualification is currently under way.
