QuickSilver Sports exhausts for Toyota GT86, Subaru BRZ
January 29, 2013 by John Day
QuickSilver Exhausts (www.quicksilverexhausts.com) has released Sports exhausts systems for the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ, improving the vehicles’ sounds and performance.
The QuickSilver GT86 and BRZ rear system is specifically designed to enhance and amplify the caged and muted sound of the factory 2-litre four-pot boxer engine, an often criticized area of a car.
Turn the key, QuickSilver suggests, and a QuickSilver-equipped GT86/BRZ now burbles into life, maintaining a civilized yet muscular edge at idle and while cruising. Put your foot down however and the stainless steel hand-made system really comes on song, offering a distinctive wail from 4000rpm all the way to the redline that’s far more in keeping with the car’s driver-focused character.
Emphasis has also been placed on weight reduction. The Sports system weighs 5kg less than the standard exhaust, thus reducing weight over the rear and rather lively axle, enhancing feel and offering even more predictability when fast cornering.
In recent tests the new exhaust has also been proven to add between 6-10bhp and 8-12ft-lb and to take power up from 197 to 205bhp+ and torque from 151ft-lb to 160ft-lb+.
The Quicksilver Exhaust GT86 and BRZ rear exhaust are each priced at £796 GBP + VAT. They are a “bolt-on” upgrade, so no modifications to the bumper or mounting points are required. The system can be fitted in just 30 minutes. QuickSilver Exhaust systems come with a 25-year Corrosion Guarantee and can be ordered and delivered within 3 working days (in the UK).
