ATX Group is proposing a self-dispatching approach to managing location-enabled emergency calls (eCalls) and said the solution combines the two approaches to eCall deployment recognized by the European Commission – calls activated by a motorist depressing an in-vehicle emergency button or by automatic dialing by in-vehicle equipment upon airbag deployment.
