dSPACE has introduced MicroAutoBox II, the next generation of dSPACE’s compact rapid prototyping platform for in-vehicle use. With a 900 MHz IBM PowerPC processor, the MicroAutoBox II gives ECU function developers faster real-time computation of their controller models as well as faster boot times, so that in ECU networks MicroAutoBox II can perform immediate boot-up like a real ECU.

The dSPACE production code generator TargetLink and the model-based test tool BTC EmbeddedTester have been especially certified by TÜV SÜD, a German certification authority, for use in safety-related projects according to ISO 26262 and IEC 61508. This relieves users of the need to perform additional, costly tool qualification measures.

Version 3.1 of dSPACE’s TargetLink® production code generator provides enhancements in the code generator’s core functionality, AUTOSAR support, usability, and MATLAB®/Simulink® integration. The firm said the enhancements make model-based design, autocoding, and model-based testing even more efficient. Certification of TargetLink 3.1 for applications in safety-relevant electronic systems according to IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 is currently in progress.
