Audi has awarded Vector Informatik and its strategic partner, TTTech Automotive, an international supply contract for AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW). The call for bids covered modules for communication over CAN, LIN and FlexRay, including RTE and end-to-end protection for safety-related ECUs.

The AUTOSAR roadmap is a logical continuation of the results achieved in Phase II, which ended successfully with the launch of Release 4.0 at the end of 2009. The development partnership has signed a development agreement for Phase III of the partnership which will last from 2010 to 2012.

Version 3.1 of dSPACE’s TargetLink® production code generator provides enhancements in the code generator’s core functionality, AUTOSAR support, usability, and MATLAB®/Simulink® integration. The firm said the enhancements make model-based design, autocoding, and model-based testing even more efficient. Certification of TargetLink 3.1 for applications in safety-relevant electronic systems according to IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 is currently in progress.

Delphi (www.delphi.com), Geensys, formerly Ayrton Technology (www.geensys.com), and CEA, the French Atomic Energy Commission (www-list.cea.fr), have launched a consortium to drive deployment of PharOS, an operating system that meets ISO 26262 requirements, is compatible with AUTOSAR, offers an integrated protection solution, and reduces the cost of software integration while maintaining the integrity of individual software modules.

At the International Congress Electronic Systems for Vehicles, hosted by the Association of German Engineers (VDI), AUTOSAR Spokesperson Simon Fürst, AUTOSAR Project Leader at the BMW Group summed up the improvements of AUTOSAR Phase II (2007-2009) and gave an outlook regarding further developments in Phase III (2010-2012). Phase II of the development partnership will be finalized with Release 4.0, by the end of 2009.
